　　威廉•巴特勒•叶芝是十九世纪末二十世纪初欧美文坛上最著名的一位爱尔兰诗人.他的诗歌创作同他的祖国爱尔兰有着密切的联系.读者能够从他的诗歌作品中感受到爱尔兰民族追求民族独立,勤奋自强的进取精神.

　　本文旨在探讨诗人威廉·巴特勒·叶芝永恒的爱尔兰爱国主义情结之形成过程并最终揭示其对爱尔兰后世作家所产生的巨大影响.叶芝的爱尔兰情结凝成原因有三：少时对家乡风物习俗的熟谙,青年时期所遭受的英国人的民族歧视和成年后多事的政治生涯与情感纠葛.叶芝的爱尔兰情结不仅促进了同时代爱尔兰民族运动与文学发展,同时也为爱尔兰后世作家的民族创作注入了持久的活力.

　　ThispaperaimsatdiscussingtheformingprocessofWilliamButlerYeats’severlastingIrishcomplexandatrevealinghisgreatinfluenceuponlaterIrishwriters.ThefactorsformingYeats’sIrishpatriotismarethreefold:familiaritywiththesceneryandthecustomsofhishometowninchildhood,unfairtreatmentgivenbyEnglishinhisadolescenceandeventfulpoliticalcareerandcomplexlovefeelingstowardssomefemalesinhisadulthood.Inaddition,Yeats’sIrishcomplexnotonlyhelpstheIrishnationalindependenceanditsliteraryspokesmenbutalsoaffectsthelaterIrishwritersandreinvigoratestheirnationalliteraryproductions.

　　Thisthesis,besides,throughtheanalysisofYeats’sIrishcomplex,indirectlyshowsthesignificanceofarousingtheyoungstudents’patriotisminnowadaysChinaaswell.
