　　IhavebeenanEnglishteacherinmiddleschoolsforseveralyears,andIknowthatitisnoteasytobeagoodteacher,becauseagoodteacherisrequiredtohavemanyqualitiesasfollows.Firstly,agoodteachermusthaveagoodpersonalqualitysuchasbeingpatienttotoleratethestudentswhohavemadesomemistakes,showingenthusiasminclass,beinghumorous,havingaquickresponsetotheimmediateemergency,beingopen-minded,etc.Probably,theteacherswiththesepersonalqualitieswillattractstudentsandbelikedbythem.Secondly,agoodteachershouldhavetheteachingfaculty.Inordertohavethiscapability,ateachershouldacquireenoughknowledge.Ontheonehand,heshouldacquirethewideknowledgeofphilosophy,psychology,education(howtoteach),culture,history,geography,etc.Ontheotherhand,hemustmastermuchdeepertheoriesinhisresearchfield.Apartfromthisknowledge,anEnglishteachershouldpossessthenecessaryskillsoflistening,speaking,reading,writingandtranslating,amongwhichspeakingisofparamountimportance.Inaddition,agoodEnglishteachermayhavethemeanstoactivatehisclassandgivestudentstheopportunitiestopracticeEnglish.OnlyinthiswaystudentscanuseEnglishandimprovetheircommunicativecompetence.Thirdly,agoodteachershouldhavetheawarenessoflearning.Weareinaninformationage,andtheknowledgeischangingquickly.Ifateacherdoesn’tchargehimselffromtimetotime,histheorymaybeoutofdate,andhemaynotkeepthepacewithdevelopmentofoursociety.Atpresent,ateacherisrequirednotonlytoknowhowtoteach,butalsotodoresearchinhisfield.So,heshouldupdatehistheoryandknowthenewestoneintheworld.Finally,agoodteachershouldhavemoralquality,thatistosay,agoodteachershouldbeamodelandsetagoodexampletohisstudentsandothers.Agoodteacherwillbeagoodcitizen,forexample,complyingwiththelawsofourcountryandtherulesoftheschool,offeringseatsonthebus,helpingothers,andsoon.Foragoodteacherthemostimportantmoralistolovestudentsandtolovethecourseofteaching.Aslongashehastheinnateloveforhisprofession,hemayhasenormouszestforhisstudents,andbecomeanexcellentteacher.Withreferencetotheaboveaspects,manifestly,Iamnotagoodteacher.Butfortunately,Iamtryingmybesttoreachthegoal.
