　　不可以用LESS，

　　那么英语中比之更少应该怎么表达？

　　单音节词只能加er构成比较级,像hard的比较级只能是harder.

　　这个句子还可以改成Theotherstudentsdon'tworkharderthanTomintheclass.

　　双音节词既可以加er,也可以加more或less来构成比较级,比如commoner,morecommon,lesscommon

　　多音节词就只能是加more或less来构成比较级了.比如more/lessdifficult

　　你的问题关键是hard是单音节词,所以不能加less构成比较级,而只能用harder.
