　　LouvreThecollectionsofthemuseumareadministeredbysevencuratorialdepartments.TheDepartmentofEgyptianAntiquitieswasformedin1826tostudyanddisplaytheobjectsbroughtbacktoFranceduringNapoleon'scampaigninEgypt.TheDepartmentofOrientalAntiquitiesisfamedforitscollectionsofMesopotamianandIslamicart.OtherdepartmentsincludeGreek,Roman,andEtruscanantiquities;Objetsd'art(includingthecrownjewelsofFrance);andDrawingsandPrints.

　　In1993theRichelieuWingwasopenedbyPresidentMitterrandofFrance.ThenorthwingoftheLouvrePalace,formerlyoccupiedbytheMinistryofFinance,wasvacatedandtransformedintoexhibitionareas.Thisendedthesecondphaseofaprojectinprogresssince1981thatincludedtheadditionoftheglasspyramidentrancedesignedbyAmericanarchitectI.M.Pei,anauditorium,galleriesfortemporaryexhibitions,displaysonthehistoryoftheLouvre,moatsofthemedievalLouvre,restaurants,shops,andparkingfacilities.
