　　On October 11th，2012，the Nobel Prize in Literature （文学） for 2012was won by the Chinese writer Mo Yan．"I'm very happy to hear the news，"Mo Yan told the Chinese reporters after he was told that he won the prize．"But I feel this prize doesn't mean too much for me．There are many other outstanding writers in China．I will continue writing more books．"

　　Mo Yan was born in Gaomi，Shandong Province in 1955，the fourth child in his family．Life was difficult for him．In his early years，he experienced poverty and hunger．All of these things have influenced Mo Yan's later writings．At the age of 12，he had to leave school．But he loved reading and read every book he could get，even the dictionary．When he was 20，he joined the army （军队） and got to see the world outside his home village．Six years later in 1981，he started writing books．One of his books，The Red Sorghum《红高粱》，was later made into a movie，which became very popular．
