Afterhismarriage,VerneworkedasabusinessmaninParis.However,hewasnotverysuccessfulathisjobandspentmostofhistimewritingbooksanddoingresearchforthenextone.In1863hepublishedhisnovelFiveWeeksinaballoonandthefollowingyearhepublishedAJourneytothecentreoftheearthwhichmadehimfamous.Hisbooksbecamesopopularandearnedhimsomuchmoneythathewasabletoleavehisjobandworkfulltimeonhiswriting.
InhisLifetime,JulesVernewrotemorethan50booksandhebecamearichman.Manyofthisimaginativenovelshavebeenturnedintofilms.
