KitfirstworkedasateacherinLondonaftergraduatingfromcollege,thenhewenttoCanadaandspentthreeyearsteachingEnglishatauniversity.AfterhisreturntoEnglandin1970,Kitstartedworkingforapoetrysociety.
Kit'sfirstcollectionofpoetryforadultswaspublishedin1974.Hisfirstcollectionofpoetryforchildren,Arthur'sFather,followedin1978.Hequicklybecamefamous.
KitWrightisnowafull-timewriter.Hehaswrittenmorethantwenty-fivebooksforbothadultsandchildrenandwonseveralliteraryawards.Manyofhispoemsarefun,comic,andlively.
