Duringtimesofpeacenewtreasureswerebroughtin.Duringthedaysofwarmanytreasureswerestolenandthebuildingsweredamaged.
WhenFrancisIbecamekingofFrancein1515hebroughtinmanyartistsfromothercountries.OneoftheartistswasLeonardodaVincifromItaly.DaVinci's“MonaLisa”isthebest-knownpaintinginthemuseumtoday.
In1793theLouvrebecameapublicmuseumjustasitisnow.Itisaplacewherearttreasuresarekeptforeveryonetoenjoy.EveryyearmillionsofpeoplefromallovertheworldcometotheLouvretoseethemasterpieces.
