LastyearIleftaprofessionalpositionasasmall-townreporterandtookajobwaitingtables.Assomeonepaidtoservefoodtopeople,IhadcustomerssayanddothingstomeIsupposethey’dneversayordotothepeopletheyknow.Onenightamantalkingonhiscellphonewavedmeaway,thencalledmebackwithhisfingeraminutelater,sayingangrilythathewasreadytoorderandaskingwhereI’dbeen.
