　　whichcontainedclothing是定语从句,which是关系代词,先行词是boxes.从句也是句子,必需成分完整.在这个从句中,which作主语,contained作谓语,clothing作宾语,省掉了which就没了主语,从句将无法成立.

　　要想去掉which,得把contained变为containing,说成Workersbegantounloadanumberofwoodenboxescontainingclothing.这里的containing是现在分词作定语,修饰boxes.
