　　太阳的长期变化首先对地球气候产生了影响.与此同时,太阳的周期变化,也影响了地球气候.科学家考察地球气候变化时发现,太阳的“蒙德极小期”(即太阳活动非常衰弱的时期)和地球上一个小冰河期的最低气温存在着联系.也有很多科学证据显示,20世纪上半时期的温度受到了太阳活动周期的影响.

　　太阳本身的平均变化辐射到地球上基本是比较稳定的,但是太阳自身的活动周期会对地球的天气产生一定的影响.原先的研究认为这种影响不大,把人类活动的影响考虑比较多一点,但考察上几百年,甚至几千年的活动,会发现地球上的气候甚至很多自然灾害和太阳活动都有关系.

　　在中国,当太阳活动处于极小年的时候,黄河、长江流域常会发生大旱.2006年以来,太阳进入了非常不活跃的时期,这个时期对应着中国大旱及很多非常恶劣的天气条件.当年,云南发生百年不遇大旱,美国则出现了百年不遇大暴雨,全球都出现了很多罕见的天灾.
