InJapanChildrenattendelementaryschoolforsixyearswheretheystudyJapanesearithmeticsciencesocialstudiesmusiccraftsphysicaleducationandhomeeconomics(simplecookingandsewingskills).DuringtheirthreeyearsinmiddleschoolEnglishisaddedtothislist.MostschoolshaveaccesstocomputersandtheInternet.
Theclassesinmyschoolseemedratherbigtomearound30studentsinatypicalhighschoolclass.Weatelunchintheclassroominsteadofacafeteriaandenjoyedahealthynutritiousmealpreparedbytheschoolorbyalocal“schoollunchcentre”insteadofeatingthesamedrysandwicheseveryday.IreallyliketheJapaneseinterpretationofschoollunches.Ialsoenjoyedthefieldtripsandactivities.AtJapaneseschoolstherearemanyschooleventsduringtheyearsuchasfielddaywhenstudentscompeteintug-of-warfieldtripsandartsandculturalfestivals.
